At Spectrum Retirement Communities we believe in living without limits, in aging fearlessly, and in sharing great stories. The Spectrum Story is full of compassion, hard work, and fun. If the chapters of your life story include caring for others and a dedicated work ethic, then we need you!
About the Role:
This is a senior executive opportunity for a clinically credentialed leader to shape regulatory compliance and resident care strategy across Spectrum’s entire portfolio. As VP, you’ll set the standard for how our communities deliver care, navigate surveys, and drive quality outcomes — partnering with regional teams, community leadership, and clinical staff to ensure every Spectrum community operates at its best.
What You’ll Do:
Regulatory Compliance
- Track and analyze state survey outcomes; review and approve Plans of Correction and State Reportable Events, identifying systemic trends portfolio-wide.
- Monitor regulatory changes across all states of operation and implement updated policies to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Conduct mock surveys at community sites; support communities through state and federal compliance surveys and investigations.
Resident Care
- Identify underperforming communities against KPI benchmarks; partner with regional and community leadership to establish improvement goals and provide coaching.
- Conduct Care Audits to verify resident assessment accuracy, care level assignments, and billing alignment.
- Provide strategic direction for assessment programs and individualized care planning that addresses residents’ health, functional, and psychosocial needs.
- Develop and deliver training programs for clinical staff across the portfolio; contribute to the evolution of clinical policies and procedures.
- Review community incident reports; develop and monitor Plans of Correction in accordance with Spectrum policies.
- Use data-driven analysis (including Statistical Process Control) to improve care outcomes and support deficiency-free state surveys.
What We’re Looking For:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in good standing required.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline required; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of regional, corporate, or executive-level clinical leadership in senior living or healthcare.
- Deep expertise in state and federal regulations governing assisted living and senior care, including survey processes.
- Geriatric assessment expertise and working knowledge of dementia care best practices.
- Strong analytical mindset — able to identify trends, build corrective action plans, and present data-driven recommendations to senior leadership.
- Exceptional communicator and cross-functional collaborator with the ability to influence teams at all levels.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems; Yardi EHR experience a plus.
- Ability to travel up to 40% of the time.
