
International Airport of Heraklion, Crete S.A. is currently looking for a:
Technical Standards & Contracts Engineer (Maintenance)
Responsibilities
Transition / Pre-Opening Phase:
- Supports preparation, review, version control, and issue of airport maintenance standards, SOPs, work instructions, inspection checklists, and templates across technical disciplines.
- Reviews maintenance-related documentation received from Contractors and Suppliers for completeness, alignment with approved technical standards, and compliance with contractual and handover requirements.
- Assists in preparation and consolidation of maintenance-related inputs to the Aerodrome Manual and certification documentation, under the guidance of the Head of Technical Standards & Contracts.
- Establishes and maintains warranty and Defect Liability Period (DLP) registers.
- Coordinates with Civil, E&M, CMMS, and Operations teams to collect and validate standards-related, contract-related, asset, warranty, spare-parts, and maintenance-task information.
- Assists ORAT/readiness activities by maintaining documentation traceability, defect/action registers, contractual obligation records, and evidence packs.
- Prepares periodic status summaries on standards, documentation readiness, warranty/DLP registers, and pending contractual deliverables.
Operational Phase:
- Supports ongoing maintenance, review, and controlled updating of airport technical standards, SOPs, manuals, templates, and inspection regimes.
- Assists in technical administration of maintenance-related contracts.
- Facilitates warranty and DLP notices, including claim preparation, notices, technical correspondence, defect tracking, contractor responses, action status, and close-out evidence.
- Maintains and provides structured documentation and evidence for internal and external audits, inspections, regulatory reviews and management reporting.
- Supports continuous improvement of maintenance standards and contract-compliance processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical) or Construction / Technical Management with relevant technical documentation or contract-compliance experience
- Postgraduate qualification in Asset Management, Contracts, Maintenance, or Project Management is considered an advantage
- 5–8 years of professional experience in technical documentation, maintenance support, contract administration, asset management, project handover, or technical compliance roles
- Experience with O&M manuals, as-built documentation, warranties, DLP tracking, testing/commissioning records, handover documentation, or audit evidence is required
- Experience in large infrastructure, airport, industrial, or safety-critical facilities is preferred
- Experience with CMMS, document-control platforms, SharePoint/List-based trackers, or structured compliance registers is an advantage
- Good understanding of technical standards, SOPs, work instructions, maintenance manuals, and document-control principles
- Understanding of maintenance governance, asset lifecycle concepts, CMMS data requirements, and audit/evidence management.
- Very good command of English and Greek language, both oral and written
