Main Purpose of Role
As a Technical Manager, you’ll be responsible for:
- Act as the primary Technical Authority for Toys & Juvenile Products (TJP).
- Provide high-level technical consultancy to clients and internal teams (Sales/CS) to drive business growth.
- Ensure technical excellence, accuracy in result validation, and lead the technical development for TJP testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare training plan and provide technical training and handle qualification, technical competency of operation and technical team.
- Provide technical advice, technical support to internal teams (CS/ sale/ operation) and external clients.
- Partner with the Sales team to visit key clients, providing technical consultancy during pre-sales and post-sales stages to capture business opportunities.
- Serve as the main speaker/presenter for external technical seminars, webinars, and workshops organized by SGS to update clients on market trends and regulatory changes in the Toy industry.
- Responsible for new development projects (new testing programs, new lab setup, etc.)
Study new test methods/ regulations/ clients’ manual and have proper update/ training to all relevant teams. - Participate in drafting of quality documentation, and ISO/IEC 17025 lab accreditation activities. Ensure strict adherence to ISO/IEC 17025 and global TJP testing standards. Oversee the technical alignment and correlation between the local lab and the global network.
- Responsible for studying/ creating/ updating quality management system (test methods, SOP, guidelines, datasheet, templates, technical alignment, forms, quality database, etc.), upload them to SharePoints/ technical database related to TJP for the Lab’s using, and ensure the compliance of the Team.
- Organize resource to maintain smooth operation of technical team. Review the existing operation/ testing processes and have proper recommendation to Operation Manager.
- Perform final technical review and validation for complex TJP case, specifically focusing on Age Grading, Hazard Analysis, and Risk Assessment documents.\
- Coordinate with operation, CS and Sales Teams to settle clients complaints/ claims and have proper corrective actions & preventive action plan.
- Compliance with QHSE procedure.

Experience & Education Background
- University or above
- At least five years of experience in Hardgoods Testing Lab (Toy, Juvenile Product is preferred)
- Good communication skills (Presentation, Public Speaking, Technical Advisory, Consultancy)
- Good in English and Ms Office
- Ability to complete projects and assignments on a timely basis
- Hands-on, open-minded, proactive team player
