We're currently seeking a Special Education Teacher to join a school team in Merrimack County. Position Details * *Position:* Special Education Teacher * *Location:* Hooksett School District * *Age group: *Grades 3-5 * *Duration:* 2026/2027 school year * *Schedule:* 37.5 hours/week Responsibilities: * Provide specialized instruction and learning support aligned to students' *Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)*. * Develop, implement, and manage *IEPs*, including goals, accommodations/modifications, service minutes, and progress monitoring. * Deliver instruction in a variety of settings as needed (e.g., inclusion, resource, or self-contained), based on student needs. * Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and school support staff to ensure students can access the curriculum. * Use data to track progress, adjust instruction, and document growth toward IEP goals. * Support positive behavior and social-emotional development using student-centered and trauma-informed practices. * Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with special education timelines and state/federal requirements. * Participate in IEP meetings, parent/guardian communication, and multidisciplinary team planning. Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree or higher in Special Education (or related field). * Active New Hampshire special education licensure/certification (or eligibility to obtain). * Knowledge of special education laws and compliance requirements (IDEA/IEP processes). * Strong communication, documentation, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills. * School-based experience preferred (but not required, depending on the role).
