The Shift Manager Sportsbook is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Sportsbook department during their assigned shift. This includes approving, limiting, and/or denying wagers, scheduling of staff, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
Position Responsibilities
- Supervise and Monitor: Oversee Sportsbook Ticket Writers, ensuring all sports wagering activity follows company guidelines.
- Training and Development: Assist with the training and the overall day-to-day development of Sportsbook Ticket Writers.
- Cash Management: Verify that all cash drawers are accurately maintained and reconciled daily.
- Customer Service: Address escalated customer disputes, questions and other concerns.
- Sports Betting Knowledge: Maintain a thorough understanding of wagers, odds, and bet types for sporting events. Stay apprised of major leagues, teams and player news.
- Communication: Effectively communicate wagering rules to patrons.
- Bet Monitoring: Track unusual betting patterns that may indicate guideline violations.
- Responsible Gaming: Identify and report any customer who may be at risk of Responsible Gaming issues and advise accordingly.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all activities comply with all state and federal gaming regulations and effectively monitor Sportsbook activity for regulatory violations.
Essential Functions
- Physical Requirements: Stand for the entire shift and move throughout the property.
- Flexible Schedule: Must be able to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Environmental Exposure: Work in a casino environment with exposure to secondhand smoke, excessive noise and stress related to servicing customers in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical Ability: Lift, push and pull up to 20 pounds.
Requirements
- Minimum one (1) year prior cashiering/money handling experience preferred.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
- Must be computer competent with the aptitude to learn new systems.
- Ability to work well under pressure.

Our cash compensation amount for this role is targeted at $46,500 to $60,500 annually. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including experience and expertise and may vary from the amount listed above.
