YOUR ROLE AT SIXT
Ownership You own one or two deep-tech products at a time — full ownership of direction, scope, priorities, and the call to stop building something. Pricing logic, automated decisioning, agentic tooling: products where the roadmap depends on how the system behaves in production, shaped together with what stakeholders need. You carry the decisions yourself and move on only when the current product is genuinely stable
Define correctness for emergent systems You define what "working" means for systems where behavior is easier to observe than implementation is to inspect — generated or agentic enough that traditional specs don't capture it. You design how we verify it, set the thresholds for confidence, and call when the evidence is sufficient to ship
Boundaries for AI autonomy You decide what automated pricing and agentic decisioning can act on without a human in the loop, where manual oversight is required, and how much confidence we need before trusting the output. This isn't theoretical — it's part of the products you own
Technical partnership and durable decisions You work with engineers on feasibility, architecture, and trade-offs, co-owning the ADRs that make those calls stick. Part of the engineering org is remote, so decisions that aren't written down don't count
Drive technical innovation with the business You spot what's newly possible and turn it into use cases stakeholders actually want — shaped together, not handed down. That same closeness lets you push back effectively when you need to
YOUR SKILLS MATTER
- Engineering depth You read code fluently and dig into a codebase to verify a claim or judge a proposed change. You rarely write production code, never on the critical path — but you've been close enough to it that engineers trust your technical judgment
AI tools and systems in practice Coding assistants, agents, LLMs are already part of your daily workflow. You've built or evaluated LLM-based and agentic systems enough to judge what they're doing, spot when they're failing, and decide whether to trust the output
A track record of hard decisions You've owned a call that made a stakeholder unhappy, and it held. Bring the instance, the pushback, and what happened after
Systems and platform judgment You have a solid grasp of distributed systems, APIs, service boundaries, and data-intensive architectures — enough to spot coupling, failure modes, and long-term cost before they become problems
Data-driven trade-offs You use evidence to prioritize, define success, and argue for cutting scope — and you build the measurement infrastructure when it doesn't exist yet
Writing that carries decisions You write scope rationales and ADRs that someone outside the room can act on and bring a real example
