We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Vienna-based Finance team and support the continued growth of Bybit EU’s regulated operations.

About the Role

• We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to support the accounting, financial reporting, and regulatory reporting activities of Bybit’s European entities.
• This role will be responsible for managing core accounting processes, month-end and year-end closing activities, financial reporting, and supporting audits within a rapidly growing and highly regulated fintech environment.
• You will work closely with Finance, Treasury, Compliance, Legal, Operations, Product teams, external auditors, and outsourced accounting providers to ensure accurate financial reporting and robust financial controls.
• Beyond traditional accounting responsibilities, you will have the opportunity to help design and build scalable accounting processes, reporting frameworks, and finance controls for one of Europe’s fastest-growing regulated digital asset businesses.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements under Austrian GAAP (UGB)
• Oversee general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, accruals, provisions, and month-end close processes
• Support the preparation of regulatory and financial reporting for Austrian and European entities
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, outsourced accounting providers, and regulatory stakeholders
• Support internal and external audits and ensure compliance with Austrian accounting and regulatory requirements
• Assist in implementing and improving accounting controls, finance processes, and ERP workflows
• Collaborate closely with Treasury, Compliance, Legal, Product, Operations, and Tax teams on finance-related matters
• Support accounting analysis relating to crypto assets, safeguarding balances, payment flows, and fintech products
• Assist with the implementation of new accounting policies, reporting requirements, and regulatory developments
• Drive automation, process improvement, and finance transformation initiatives
• Support strategic projects, licensing initiatives, and expansion activities from an accounting and reporting perspective
• Maintain robust documentation, controls, and audit trails across key finance processes

Requirements

• 6+ years of accounting, audit, or financial reporting experience, ideally within fintech, crypto, banking, financial services, payments, or another international environment
• Strong knowledge of Austrian GAAP (UGB) and financial reporting principles
• Experience working with audits, financial statements, reconciliations, and regulatory reporting requirements
• Strong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable collaborating across Finance, Legal, Compliance, Product, and operational teams
• Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite is considered a plus
• Austrian accounting qualifications (e.g. Bilanzbuchhalter) and/or experience gained within a Big 4 audit practice, financial institution, or multinational finance function are considered a strong advantage
• Professional fluency in English is required; German is considered a strong advantage

• Experience within financial services, fintech, payments, crypto, or other regulated industries
• Exposure to regulatory reporting and regulated financial institutions
• Knowledge of crypto asset accounting and safeguarding concepts
• Experience supporting finance transformation, process automation, or ERP implementation projects
• Experience working with regulatory stakeholders, auditors, and supervisory requirements
