Position Purpose
Driven by Mövenpick’s philosophy of "doing ordinary things in an extraordinary way," the In-Room Dining Attendant delivers a premium, seamless, and personalized dining experience directly to our guests' rooms and residences. This role acts as a primary touchpoint for upscale service, ensuring impeccable food safety, timing, and genuine Swiss-Saudi hospitality.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
1. Guest Service & Order Management
Answer In-Room Dining phone calls promptly and professionally, using approved Mövenpick telephone etiquette.
Demonstrate extensive knowledge of the food menu, beverage lists, daily specials, and ingredients to provide upsells and tailored recommendations.
Accurately record guest orders, dietary restrictions, and special requests in the POS system (e.g., Symphony/Sunsystems).
Coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure precise preparation and strictly monitor delivery times to meet established internal service-time standards.
2. Delivery, Setup, and Clearance
Inspect all trays and food trolleys prior to leaving the kitchen to ensure complete setup (correct cutlery, condiments, temperature control, and presentation).
Deliver orders directly to guest rooms or private residences with a warm, respectful demeanor, adhering to privacy protocols.
Explain the dishes upon serving and professionally manage the signing of bills or posting charges to guest rooms.
Conduct regular floor sweeps and monitoring to promptly clear used trays and trolleys from guest corridors, maintaining the hotel’s pristine presentation.
3. Food Safety, Hygiene & Compliance
Strictly adhere to the hotel’s internal Food Safety and Hygiene Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Ensure full compliance with the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) guidelines regarding food handling, temperature logging, and contamination prevention.
Report any visual or quality anomalies in the food (such as foreign objects or improper washing) immediately to the Hygiene Department and Executive Chef before it leaves the kitchen.
Maintain a valid Municipality Health Card and ensure immaculate personal grooming at all times.
4. Team Collaboration & Communication
Participate in daily departmental shift briefings to stay updated on hotel occupancy, VIP arrivals, and menu changes.
Utilize designated internal communication channels (e.g., WhatsApp groups or communication logbooks) to coordinate rapidly with supervisors regarding guest complaints or delayed orders.
Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in In-Room Dining or Food & Beverage service within a 4 or 5-star hotel environment.
Education: High school diploma or a hospitality certificate/degree is preferred.
Language Skills: Excellent command of English (spoken and written). Spoken Arabic is a highly valued asset for engaging with local corporate clients and families.
Technical Skills: Familiarity with hotel POS software and basic telephone switchboard operations.

Ability to work flexible hours, including night shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
Resilience and composure under pressure during high-occupancy periods.
