Teach For Nigeria (TFN) is focused on developing a movement of leaders across the nation who are committed to ending educational inequity. In the short term through a two-year Fellowship, TFN recruits Nigeria’s most outstanding university graduates and young professionals of all academic disciplines to teach as full-time teachers (as Fellows) in high-need schools in poor communities. Through this experience, our Fellows gain exposure to the realities of Nigeria’s education system and begin to identify their role in building a wider movement for educational equity. Teach for Nigeria is seeking a dynamic and highly resourceful Program Coordinator for its Remote Learning Program. As a Program Coordinator, you will lead the vision of ensuring that students in underserved communities continue to learn beyond the classroom. You would be required to coordinate curriculum development, content creation and stakeholder management.
Responsibilities:
You will manage different stakeholders, think extensively, and work almost independently without needing support.
You will be required to manage different players to get content prepared, edited, and eventually aired.
Generate ideas to navigate emergent challenges along the way, and come up with reasonable solutions.
Have some elementary school knowledge and experience to help inform the radio school curriculum/framework/timing etc
Coordinate the preparation of engaging scripts for Nursery/Primary school children to be presented virtually (on radio) weekly.
Facilitate virtual lessons, pre-recorded at the studio on different segments of 8the Radio School
Design radio school curriculum across the subject areas that suits the learning needs of our listeners (Basic 3 - 9).
Develop questions for assessment and weekly worksheets aligned with written scripts and learning goals.
Listen to and review the radio school’s weekly broadcast.
Maintain and monitor the production of the radio school contents.
Ensure that scripts and recordings are properly vetted and approved for airplay.
Ensure the proper documentation and use of the radio school files.
Perform other duties in line with the radio school activities as assigned.
A Bachelor’s degree from a reputable university required
Excellent communication skills –verbal and written
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Deep understanding of TFN’s theory of change, mission & vision
Ability to handle a crisis, common in start-up environments
Exceptional relationship-building skills; the ability to establish effective working relationships.
Dynamic, possessing strong initiative, confidence, and flexibility to deal with unexpected situations or last-minute changes in a compelling team

Knowledge of basic technical/online platforms such as Google apps, Zoom, Trello board, Microsoft Office programs (MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint), etc.
