Weekend Production Manager 

32 hours (Friday 6am-2pm, Saturday 6am-6pm & Sunday 10am-10pm)

Here at our Valeo Foods York site we are seeking an experienced and driven Production Manager (Weekends) to support in delivering strategic and day-to-day operational excellence.

As the Production Manager you'll be the guardian of our production, ensuring that all resources are utilised effectively to exceed our KPIs. From maintaining top-notch health and safety standards to fostering team development, you'll play a pivotal role in keeping our operations running smoothly. You will need to be able to drive change and push continuous improvement across production.

What you’ll be doing

  • Support delivery of operational strategy and day-to-day performance
  • Monitor KPIs (costs, waste, labour, OEE) and drive corrective actions
  • Lead continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives
  • Ensure strong health & safety, quality, and compliance standards
  • Maintain audit readiness across all areas
  • Improve environmental, hygiene, and housekeeping standards
  • Lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to achieve site objectives

Key Experience & Skills

  1. Experience in a manufacturing/operations leadership role
  2. Strong knowledge of continuous improvement and best practice
  3. Proven ability to lead and develop teams
  4. Understanding of HSE, quality, and cost control
  5. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  6. Commercial awareness with a customer-focused approach
