About the role
The flavour and formulation portfolio is the heart of what Aquablu puts in people's hands. We're building an adaptive hydration brand that sits at the intersection of food science, functional wellness, and consumer taste, and we need someone to own that fully: the strategy, the science, the suppliers, and the launches.
You'll define what goes in our products, why it goes in, and how we bring it to market. You'll work with world-class formulators, ingredient innovators, and clinical experts and you'll be the person in the room who makes the final call. One day you're deep in dosing strategy with a nutrition scientist; the next you're tasting fifteen iterations of a new boost and deciding which one ships.

This role reports into the Head of Physical Product and is part of Aquablu's Physical Product team.
What You'll Own
Flavour & formulation portfolio: Own it end-to-end, from concept through to launch
Product strategy: Define and evolve the roadmap across flavours, boosts, and enhancements, grounded in personalisation and adaptive hydration
Formulation development: Lead development with external developers, contract manufacturers, and ingredient suppliers
Clinical & functional dosing: Drive the science behind what goes in the product — understanding efficacy, dosing, and evidence
Tasting & evaluation: Design, taste, and assess new formulas and iterations with a sharp, considered palate. Run tastings in house with user groups
Supplier & partner network: Identify and build relationships with ingredient innovators and functional beverage specialists
Market intelligence Stay close to trends, competitors, emerging ingredients, and consumer behaviour in functional beverages
Go-to-market collaboration: Work with marketing and commercial on positioning, claims, and launch strategy for new products
Influencer & wellness partnerships: Seek out and manage relationships with experts and brand partners relevant to the portfolio
What You Bring
Background in food & beverage, nutrition, or consumer product management, marketing, or brand (or a compelling mix)
Strong feel for the functional beverage market: what's trending, what's working, and why consumers buy
Experience bringing consumer products to market, ideally in food, drink, or wellness
Commercially sharp: you’re able to translate consumer insight and market trends into product decisions
Confident managing external partners - formulators, suppliers, manufacturers, influencers
Strong communicator, who can brief, align, and hold external parties accountable
Genuine curiosity about functional nutrition and personalised wellness. You don't need to be a scientist, but you need to care about what goes in the product
Excellent palate and real enthusiasm for tasting and evaluating new products
Nice to have :
Experience in a scale-up or brand-led business
Existing network in the functional beverage, supplement, or wellness industry
Understanding of EU health claims and food regulation
Experience with clinical or evidence-based product development
