Key Objectives
• Manage and process medical billing accurately and efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and insurance requirements.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to resolve billing issues.
• Support the financial health of the clinic by optimizing revenue cycle management.
Responsibilities
• Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies and government programs.
• Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to services.
• Review and reconcile billing statements, identifying discrepancies and resolving denials.
• Maintain accurate patient billing records and documentation.
• Communicate with patients regarding billing inquiries and payment plans.
• Stay current with industry regulations, coding standards, and billing software updates.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and administrative staff to streamline billing workflows.
Requirements
• Proven experience as a Medical Billing Specialist or similar role, preferably within a healthcare or wellness setting.
• Strong knowledge of medical billing procedures, insurance claim processes, and coding systems (CPT, ICD-10).
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) and billing software platforms.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality and professionalism.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; certification in medical billing or coding is preferred.
