We're looking for a talented Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering team in Winston-Salem, NC. - Design, develop, and optimize mechanical systems and components using advanced 3D CAD software (Solid Edge, Inventor, or equivalent)
- Create comprehensive technical drawings, assemblies, and detailed documentation that meet internal design standards and industry specifications
- Perform analytical mechanical calculations, including dimensioning, structural analysis, pressure assessments, and stress evaluations
- Develop and manage Bill of Materials (BOM) structures, ensuring accuracy and completeness throughout the design lifecycle
- Lead or support prototype development, testing, and validation activities, translating designs into functional products
- Investigate design issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions through collaborative problem-solving
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and product teams to ensure designs are feasible, cost-effective, and aligned with customer requirements
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and help establish best practices in mechanical design and engineering processes
- Document design decisions, maintain design records, and ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
- Five years of relevant mechanical engineering experience with delivering engineered solutions, product development, or lifecycle engineering relating to industrial or electromechanical products.
- Proven proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and design software (Solid Edge, Inventor, AutoCAD, or similar platforms)
- Strong experience in creating technical drawings, assemblies, and Bills of Materials
- Solid foundation in mechanical calculations, engineering analysis, and design principles
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to quality and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication abilities and demonstrated collaborative mindset
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Experience in R&D or New Product Development (NPD) processes
- Familiarity with prototype development, testing, and validation methodologies
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability (DFM) principles
- Experience with project management tools and methodologies
- Background in continuous improvement or lean engineering practices
- Hands-on laboratory or field testing experience
- Familiarity with industry standards and compliance requirements relevant to mechanical design
