Responsibilities:
This role is focused on driving the growth and expansion of the P2P business in the local market by identifying, acquiring, and maintaining strategic relationships with key merchants. The P2P Business Developer (PBD) will be responsible for merchant acquisition and retention, market expansion, and ecosystem growth while ensuring healthy liquidity and consistent activity across local fiat markets.
Key responsibilities include:
 
1. Merchant Acquisition & Expansion
  • Identify, recruit, and onboard top-tier P2P merchants to strengthen market liquidity and competitiveness.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with high-volume merchants, OTC desks, and arbitrage communities.
  • Expand merchant coverage across strategic fiat currencies.
  • Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and emerging trends.
  • Collaborate with local communities, KOLs, academies, and merchant networks to drive merchant acquisition.
 
2. Merchant Retention & Growth
  • Build long-term relationships with merchants to ensure engagement and retention.
  • Monitor merchant performance, transaction volume, ad activity, and operational quality.
  • Develop incentive and retention strategies to prevent churn among key merchants.
  • Provide operational support, campaign assistance, and best practices to optimize merchant performance.
  • Collect merchant feedback and work internally to improve the P2P ecosystem and user experience.
 
3. Business Development & Partnerships
  • Establish strategic partnerships with crypto communities, P2P schools, OTC groups, and trading communities.
  • Support online and offline events to increase P2P brand visibility and merchant engagement.
  • Collaborate with KOLs and affiliates to expand the local P2P ecosystem.
  • Identify growth and expansion opportunities within the local market.
 
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Risk, Compliance, Customer Support, Product, and Operations teams to ensure a seamless merchant experience.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to resolve operational issues and optimize merchant-related processes.
  • Support the implementation of local and regional growth strategies.
  • Ensure merchant activities comply with local regulations and internal compliance policies.
 
5. Market Monitoring & Reporting
  • Monitor competitor activities, market trends, and local market conditions.
  • Analyze market performance and provide actionable insights to improve growth and liquidity.
  • Track key KPIs including active merchants, volume, ad activity, retention, and conversion rates.
  • Prepare periodic reports and strategic recommendations for regional management.
 
Requirements:
  • Experience in Business Development, Sales, Account Management, or Crypto/P2P Operations.
  • Strong understanding of cryptocurrency markets and P2P trading ecosystems.
  • Existing network within crypto, fintech, or trading communities is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Fluent English is mandatory.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience working with P2P platforms or crypto exchanges.
  • Experience organizing crypto-related communities or events.
  • Understanding of risk management and compliance processes within P2P environments.
