About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our growing accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent Accounting graduate who is eager to develop their career in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
The ideal candidate has a strong accounting foundation, gained through a combination of internships or work experience during college and early professional experience after graduation. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude, high energy, and a willingness to learn, take ownership, and meet deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Support bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
- Assist with accruals, prepaids, and other general ledger activities.
- Prepare schedules and reports to support the accounting team.
- Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments to obtain financial information as needed.
- Support audit requests and other ad hoc accounting projects.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Available to work full-time on-site at our Midtown office
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required).
- 2–4 years of accounting experience, including experience gained while attending university (internships, accounting firms, tax firms, or similar) and/or up to one year of professional experience after graduation.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles.
- Experience performing general accounting tasks such as journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close support.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Professional English communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Positive attitude, high energy, and eagerness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional License (Título and Cédula) obtained or currently in process.
- Previous experience in a public accounting or tax firm.
- Experience working in a deadline-driven environment.
