About the role: What's in the Box
As the Engineering Manager for the Reachable Audience team within our Conversions Tech tribe, you will lead the charge in driving the next chapter of growth for the HelloFresh Group. You’ll head a newly formed, cross-functional team dedicated to building sophisticated lead collection tools and backend integrations that optimize web-based user journeys.
Working closely with AdTech, you will strategize on how to gather essential customer data while ensuring a friction-free experience rooted in customer intent. Your mission is to embed lead collection seamlessly into the user journey, creating the tools that empower us to reach our audience through personalized promotional messages and mobile app adoption. You’ll be at the heart of our MarTech capabilities, ensuring every data point collected contributes directly to our global growth strategy.
What you’ll do: The Recipe
- Lead and inspire a cross-functional team of Web and Backend engineers, fostering their professional growth while ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality products.
- Drive architectural decisions and system design, maintaining a sharp focus on engineering best practices, operational excellence, and high-quality standards.
- Partner closely with Product Leads and stakeholders to ensure joint decision-making and alignment across different engineering squads.
- Oversee your team’s tech real estate, balancing the need for rapid experimentation with the necessity of long-term reliability and data quality.
- Shape our tribe culture by participating actively in the leadership team, promoting a collaborative environment of mutual support and innovation.
What you’ll bring: The Ingredients
- A proven track record of leading or mentoring engineers within an agile software development environment for at least 2 years, backed by 6+ years of total engineering experience.
- Technical expertise in component-based frontend architecture, specifically using ReactJS and frameworks like Next.js.
- Strong system design skills, with the ability to contribute to event-driven architectures (knowledge of Domain-Driven Design is a definite plus).
- A commitment to quality, demonstrating proficiency in writing unit, integration, and functional test cases within TDD or BDD methodologies.
- An autonomous leadership style, characterized by humility and the ability to motivate a team to reach their full potential in a fast-paced environment.
- A product-oriented mindset that allows you to navigate complex challenges and prioritize impact on the customer experience.
