Development Hardware Engineer

We’re looking for an innovative Development Hardware Engineer to join our growing team:

A. Responsibilities (essential to the position)

  1. Design and construct testing setups in collaboration with the UI/UX team for rapid prototyping.
  1. Define and oversee tool specifications. Interface with internal team and external suppliers to maintain and improve equipment performance of the hardware in the test laboratory, including:
  • Machine troubleshooting
  • Generating and maintaining documentation (operating procedures, maintenance schedules/instruction, etc.)
  • Establishing and overseeing machine preventive maintenance schedule
  • Maintaining BOM’s and ensuring proper spare parts availability
  1. Design and improve infotainment software test rigs.
  1. Actively using data sources to quantitatively evaluate and track tool performance and create programs to improve relevant metrics.

B.  Requirements:

1. Industry background:

· Background in mechanical engineering, robotics, mechatronics, controls, or other automation field

· Proficiency with SolidWork or other 3D modeling software

· Experience with simulation of vehicle operation conditions

· Programming experience in any language

· Strong record of innovation demonstrated through patents, papers or products

· Proven ability to articulate and advocate a vision for technology direction with customers and internal development teams

2. Knowledge and skills:

· Experience developing product in UNIX environment

· Passionate about technology and enjoy hacking/prototyping on the side

· Experience with software project management, familiar with agile methodology

· Desired experience: Developing embedded systems and/or Automotive

3. Education / Training: 

·    Bachelor in Automotive/Embedded Software/Mechanical Engineering/Systems Engineering/Computer Science with 5+ years of work experience

·    Strong presentation skills and excellent interpersonal skills; fun, outgoing and easy to work with

·    Self-starter able to operate with minimal supervision to achieve objectives
