Navitas English in QLD, trading as Griffith English Language Institute (GELI), is the provider of English language pathway programs for Griffith University and Griffith College and has centres in the Gold Coast and Brisbane CBD. In addition to direct entry pathway English programs, GELI offers short course English programs and provides English language support to a number of University offshore partners.
The Centre Manager and Director of Studies (CM-DoS) will be responsible for the institute’s overall operation and management; its continued strategic development and financial sustainability through the offering and promotion of high-quality English language proficiency programs both in Australia and offshore. The CM-DoS has direct line responsibility for the performance of all centre educational, administrative and student services staff. The incumbent will be based on the Gold Coast but will be expected to have presence in both locations.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Relevant postgraduate qualifications (e.g. Master of Education, DELTA, Graduate Diploma in TESOL).
- Minimum 5 years' relevant TESOL teaching experience and minimum 2 years ELICOS management experience.
- Dynamic, talented educator with high standards of written and spoken communication.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, sensitive to staff, student and stakeholder needs with proven relationship management expertise.
- Skilled and enthusiastic collaborator with ability to contribute to a positive workplace culture.
- Diligent and organised administrator who is able to prioritise effectively.
- Strong analytical and presentation skills.
- Strong MS Office skills, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Working with Children Check (or equivalent).
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Experience in curriculum and materials development.
- Experience using student management systems.
- Experience managing study tour groups.
- Experience using learning management systems and other e-learning experience.
