Join us as an Anti-Financial Crime Analyst (DE) in our Belgrade office to investigate and report suspicious activities, ensuring Qonto's compliance with German AML/CFT regulations. You'll join our Anti-Financial Crime team and work closely with Ludmila Moroniewicz, our Lead Anti-Financial Crime Germany & CDD, to protect our growing German client base from financial crime risks.
ā”ļø What you'll do
- Investigate and report: Perform enhanced investigations on suspicious client activities and issue Suspicious Transaction Reports (STR) to the German FIU when necessary.
- Ensure reporting quality: Detect and describe patterns on investigated accounts to ensure regulatory reports meet the highest standards.
- Handle team escalations: Investigate cases escalated by the transaction monitoring team, assess risk, and recommend next steps.
- Strengthen the AFC framework: Contribute to improving investigation processes and documentation standards as Qonto's German operations scale.
ā”ļø What we're looking for
- AML/Financial Crime experience: You have first experience in AML, Financial Crime, or Compliance ā ideally in fintech or banking. You've handled real cases, not just studied the theory.
- Analytical rigor: You have a logical mind and can analyze complex datasets, spot errors, and build well-reasoned investigation conclusions.
- Quality and throughput: You deliver high-quality work while managing multiple cases in parallel ā you know how to prioritise without cutting corners.
- German proficiency: Native or C1 German is required for this role. Fluent English as well.
ā”ļø What we can offer you
- Real investigative work: You'll handle STRs, enhanced due diligence, and escalation reviews ā not back-office monitoring. The cases are complex and the stakes are real.
- A market you'll help build: Qonto's German AFC processes were built from scratch. You'll contribute to an operation that's still being shaped, not just maintained.
- Investigative culture: The team values logical thinking and curiosity ā understanding the why behind a transaction matters more than ticking a checklist.
- Belgrade office: Join a multicultural team in our Belgrade hub, working on German-market cases with direct exposure to European AML regulation.
ā”ļø Your future manager
Your manager will be Ludmila Moroniewicz, our Lead Anti-Financial Crime Germany & CDD.
- Her path? 9 years in Money Laundering prevention in fintech ā from KYC/KYB roles to AFC Lead, reporting directly to the MLRO of Qonto's German branch. She contributed to launching Qonto's operations in Germany and built the Financial Crime processes for the German market from scratch. Her Global CDD Expert role gave her an overview of KYC/KYB processes across all Qonto markets.
- What does she bring to the team? A hands-on leadership style that fosters continuous learning and professional growth. She knows the German regulatory landscape inside out and gives her team the autonomy to own their investigations.
