SOCOTEC’s Environmental Science team delivers independent, UKAS accredited environmental testing and scientific analysis that supports safer, more sustainable decisions across sectors including construction, infrastructure, energy, marine and manufacturing. Our experts provide high quality environmental chemistry, soil, water and waste testing, advanced chemical analysis, nuclear and renewable energy testing, marine and oils testing, environmental forensics and accredited asbestos analysis. Using industry leading laboratory methods and a data driven approach, we help clients understand environmental quality, assess contamination risks and comply with regulatory standards, contributing to environmental protection and public health.

Administrator Customer Services
Are you interested in coordinating essential support services within environmental science? This could be your opportunity to excel as part of our Customer Services team playing a vital role in supporting SOCOTEC's continued success.
As SOCOTEC grows, so do our teams. We're looking for a dedicated Administrator Customer Services to join our Environmental Science division and wear the SOCOTEC badge with pride.
In this role, you'll need the confidence to manage client interactions and coordinate service delivery efficiently. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are essential to thrive in this position.
The tasks you will undertake will include (but are not limited to):
• Booking couriers for sample collection and delivery
• Processing invoices / preparing Credit notes.
• Liaising with subcontractor laboratories to ensure seamless service delivery
• Compiling reports and maintaining accurate records
Training is provided on our in-house LIMS computer system
To be a successful you should be able to demonstrate:
• Strong Communication Skills – Both verbal and written
• Client-Focused Approach – A genuine commitment to understanding and meeting client needs, ensuring smooth service delivery throughout the process
• Problem-Solving Ability – The capacity to think quickly and resolve issues efficiently, particularly when coordinating couriers or managing time-sensitive laboratory work
• Exceptional Attention to Detail – Critical for accurate invoicing, compiling reports, and maintaining records without errors that could impact client relationships or financial processes
• Organisational Skills – The ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, from booking couriers to liaising with laboratories, whilst maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines
• Methodical and Systematic Approach – A structured way of working that ensures nothing falls through the cracks when handling documentation and administrative processes
• Reliability and Accountability – Dependability in following through on commitments, particularly when coordinating with external subcontractors
• Flexibility and Adaptability – The ability to respond to changing priorities and handle unexpected situations calmly
• Proficiency with Technology – Competence in using office software, databases, and potentially laboratory information management systems for report compilation and record-keeping
• Time Management – The capacity to prioritise effectively and work efficiently under pressure whilst maintaining quality standards
GCSE Mathematics and English or equivalent Level 2 numeracy and literacy
