Founded in 1990, U.S. Physical Therapy, Inc. operates over 700 outpatient physical therapy clinics in 44 states. Our clinics provide preventative and post-operative care for various orthopedic-related disorders and sports-related injuries, treatment for neurologically related injuries, and rehabilitation of injured workers.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, audits, tax filings, and other regulatory reporting requirements.
- Ensure that generally accepted accounting principles prepare all financial statements and that proper internal controls are in place to support the integrity of the financial activity.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and provide perspective on causes and recommendations.
- Lead accounting staff through an annual audit, acting as primary liaison with the external auditors.
- Conduct financial analysis to support program planning and evaluation.
- Monitor and report on-budget performance, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Prepare financial forecasts and analyze variances to support strategic decision-making.
- Monitors fiscal compliance with internal grants processes, federal, state, and specific grants funding agency regulations
- Lead the annual budgeting process in collaboration with department directors.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, federal and state regulations, and non-profit financial management standards.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard the organization's assets.
- Providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends, and forecasts.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support the organization's strategic goals.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and presentation to the executive team and board of directors.
- Support grant reporting and related audits, negotiations and compliance issues.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
- Develops and enhances, implements, and enforces policies and procedures by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the organization.
- Collaborate with program managers and other departments to support financial literacy and accountability.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field. Master’s degree or CPA preferred.
- 5+ years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles
- Healthcare experience preferred but not required.
- Strong problem-solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
- High integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation.
- Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.
- Solid GAAP and financial reporting technical skills.
